GEM Program Partners
Over the last 10 years, Atlanta Falcons Youth Foundation (AFYF), under the umbrella of the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, has been committed to improving the health and fitness of school-age children in Georgia through strategic giving initiatives and statewide partnerships.
For this first-ever grant project of its kind, AFYF has teamed up with trusted implementation partners: HealthMPowers, Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia, Boys and Girls Clubs of Georgia, and The University of West Georgia – all working together to create the next evolution of physical activity programs for middle school girls.
GEM aims to increase physical activity opportunities, improve aerobic capacity, create connections and strengthen the mental well-being of middle school girls across Georgia. In an effort to empower girls to be change agents in their communities, this five-year program is designed by girls, for girls.

Rather than designing another physical activity program that doesn’t work for girls today, GEM is putting girls at the forefront as youth leaders to positively impact the physical and mental health of their generation and motivate almost 200,000 middle school girls across Georgia to get moving.
Through strong partnerships and unique programming, GEM is empowering girls to create physical activity programs, improve fitness levels, promote long term health, and enhance their emotional well-being. Your support today will help us continue to deliver innovative youth-led programming to girls across Georgia.
